Monday night is the one night i know everyone will be home for dinner,I INSIST we ALL eat at the table & spend quality time together.
Ez is out most Tuesday & Friday nights & Boo Saturdays & hubby is out three nights a week.
When the children were growing up we never missed eating dinner together at the table but since My Girl has been gone its something i really struggle with.
Its so hard with a place vacant.
Its taken me a VERY LOOOONG time but I'm slowly overcoming this.

yes, it's pretty special if you can manage to all sit down for a meal - I know as the kids get older we struggle to find a night that we are all home at once
ReplyDeleteAs they grow & lifes demands change its so hard to find quality time together.
DeleteThat's great that you can find at least one night a week to all sit down for dinner. I've got this to look forward to in the future, I'm sure :D.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many different seasons in parenting, all i must say i enjoy!
DeleteSome more challenging but all contain a certain joy.
Sounds lovely!
ReplyDeleteAs the Mama it is of course, your right to demand a nice dinner once a week. Who can blame you? ;)
Yes Pamela it is:) my thoughts exactly!
DeleteMy girls are still tiny, they have no lives outside of us, but I am sure when they all become teenagers our tradition of nightly family dinners will be greatly challenged! Good for you for demanding your Monday night dinners!
ReplyDeleteSome of my best childhood memories are at the dinner table with my mom, dad and my two older brothers. Good for you for being able to get everyone to commit to once a week. They'll thank you later.
ReplyDeleteMy little guy is only 11 months old, but he loves it when he gets to have dinner with us - we have to make sure to make a real effort to do it more often.
